Professional Relationship
By instructing Citi Accounts you enter into a professional engagement with us as Chartered Certified Accountants regulated by ACCA.
- Our engagement is governed by a letter of engagement or proposal agreed with you in writing.
- Services commence once scope, timelines, and fees have been confirmed and any required onboarding checks are completed.
- We operate in line with ACCA’s Code of Ethics and Conduct and applicable UK legislation.
Scope of Services
We provide the services outlined in your engagement letter, which may include bookkeeping, statutory accounts, tax, and advisory support.
- It is your responsibility to ensure all information supplied is complete, accurate, and provided within agreed timelines.
- Any additional services outside the agreed scope will be quoted and confirmed with you before we proceed.
- We rely on information provided by you and cannot be held responsible for consequences arising from incomplete or inaccurate records.
Client Responsibilities
Working together effectively ensures that your business remains compliant and benefits fully from our advice.
- Provide timely access to records, documentation, and systems needed to complete the engagement.
- Review reports, filings, or advice provided and raise queries promptly so we can take action.
- Maintain compliance with legal and tax obligations including filing deadlines; notify us immediately if circumstances change.
- Keep your account with us in good standing; unpaid invoices may result in suspension of services.
Fees & Payment
Fees are detailed in your proposal or engagement letter and may be based on fixed, recurring, or time-based pricing.
- Invoices are payable within the timeframe specified on the invoice, usually 14 days from issue unless otherwise agreed.
- We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue balances in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Out-of-pocket expenses or third-party fees incurred on your behalf will be recharged with prior notification.
Limitation of Liability
We deliver services with reasonable care and skill; however, our liability is limited in line with professional standards.
- Liability is capped at the level specified in your engagement letter or, if not stated, to the amount of fees paid for the relevant services.
- We are not liable for losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control or for consequential losses such as lost profits.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Governing Law & Complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and both parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
- If you have concerns about our services, please contact us so we can resolve matters swiftly.
- Complaints can be escalated to ACCA if we cannot reach a satisfactory resolution together.
- You may terminate the engagement with written notice subject to the terms outlined in your engagement letter.
